Battery replacement is always a cost-effective repair (cost of batteries + labour vs. price of a new UPS). Electronics repair (inverter, rectifier) is cost-effective for UPS above 2–3 kVA. Cheap UPS 650–1000VA below 300 PLN net are usually not cost-effective for electronics repair.

The alarm indicates the UPS has measured battery capacity and found it falling below the threshold (typically 80% of rated capacity). Replacing VRLA batteries every 3–5 years is the correct maintenance cycle. After replacement, calibrate capacity in the UPS software.
