It depends on the extent of the damage. Repairing IGBT or capacitors usually costs 20–40% of a new device price and is cost-effective. In the case of a completely burnt control card, we advise honestly and say directly when repair makes no economic sense.

Variable frequency drives (inverters) are among the most common industrial electronic devices, controlling motor speed and torque in applications from simple HVAC fans to complex multi-axis machine tools. On the control side, power supply section failures, processor board faults, and communication module problems can also disable drives.
