The main difference: the CPU 1215C has two independent Profinet ports (P1 and P2) instead of one. This allows separation of IT/OT networks or connection to two independent Profinet networks. Both CPUs have the same 14 DI, 10 DQ and 2 AI, but the 1215C additionally has 2 AQ analog outputs.
Yes — both ports are managed by the same ERTEC 200P circuit, but we can diagnose and repair problems with a specific port. Often the damage only affects the isolation transformer or PHY circuit of one of the ports.
