NUM CNC Controller and Drive Repair
NUM (a Schneider Electric company) produces CNC systems — Flexium, Axium, and legacy 1040/1060 controllers — used primarily in grinding machines, gear-cutting equipment, transfer lines, and special-purpose machine tools. NUM CNC systems are particularly strong in multi-axis gear hobbing/grinding and complex interpolation applications where their control algorithms excel. NUM equipment is common in European gear manufacturing, tool grinding, and automotive component production facilities.
Common NUM system failures include CNC controller CPU board faults, NUM drive amplifier power stage degradation, encoder/resolver feedback interface failures, power supply unit aging, operator panel display and keyboard problems, and communication interface errors. Legacy 1040/1060 systems face significant component aging challenges, while Flexium systems may develop storage media and display issues. NUM drives (MDLA/MDLU series) are susceptible to IGBT and gate driver failures under heavy machining loads.
EFIXLAB provides NUM CNC system repair for all generations. Our service covers controller CPU board diagnostics and component-level repair, drive amplifier power stage rebuild, encoder feedback card repair, power supply restoration, operator panel repair, and communication interface troubleshooting. We test repaired components with axis simulation and verify proper CNC-drive communication and servo loop performance.
NUM CNC repair is critical for specialized machine tools — gear grinders and hobbing machines using NUM controls are often unique machines with no simple CNC replacement path. Repair savings of 40–65% versus NUM/Schneider OEM pricing help maintain these specialized machines economically. For legacy NUM 1040/1060 systems, repair is essentially the only viable option. All NUM repairs include comprehensive testing and our 12-month warranty.
