Indramat Drive Repair — DDS, DKC, TDM, and Legacy Servo Systems

Indramat (predecessor to Bosch Rexroth drive technology) produced some of the most widely deployed servo drive systems in the machine tool and automation industry. The DDS (Digital AC Servo Drive), DKC (Digital Compact Controller), TDM (Three-Phase Drive Module), KDA, and MAC servo motor families remain operational in thousands of machines worldwide — many running for 20+ years. Despite their age, these drives continue to provide excellent performance, but replacement parts from Bosch Rexroth are increasingly scarce and expensive.

Common Indramat drive failures include power module (IGBT/transistor) degradation in DDS and TDM drives, electrolytic capacitor aging in DC bus and power supply sections, encoder feedback card failures (DAE, DSF boards), control board processor and memory faults, and SERCOS fiber optic communication issues. The DDS series is particularly known for power supply card failures, while TDM modules frequently develop IGBT and gate driver circuit problems. DKC compact controllers may experience firmware corruption requiring recovery.
